Catch a 100 lb tarponDaytona Beach News Journal:

Leo Hiles caught this 61-inch tarpon at the 73-mile marker in the Indian River on October 1, on 10-pound test line using a SS 1600 Daiwa with a 7-foot rod and 20-pound test leader. It took Hiles 40 minutes to catch the nearly 100-pound fish, then release it.

Further detail: Leo was using a #4 size hook with live shrimp; the rod was a 7' Shimano Aero.

A nice crowd gathered at the Coronado Civic Center Sunday, in hopes of picking up a few fishing tips from Capt. Leo Hiles. Hiles and his brother, Stan Hiles, explained techniques, products and fishing basics to the audience of veterans and beginner anglers alike.

Zak Duff, one happy little fisherman, landed this 26" Redfish while fishing with Leo Hiles.
